Minton A. Prideaux
1946 ~ 2016
On June 20, 2016, Minton Albert Prideaux Jr. died peacefully surrounded by family in Salt Lake City, UT after complications from the treatment of esophageal cancer.
He was born on December 3, 1946 in Graham, TX to Suzette Paull and Minton Albert Prideaux Sr. His parents were Inex Stewart and Henry Orchard Prideaux. His parents were Sophia and Dr. Richard Orchard Prideaux. They were the 1st settlers in Archer County Texas and established the RX ranch.
At a young age Minton was very athletic, adventurous and loved family. His hobbies were baseball, water skiing, snow skiing, riding horses, fly fishing, cooking, riding motorcycles, camping, enjoyed mother nature, planting and gardening, spending time with family, making friends and encouraging people to have a good time.
Minton served in the U.S. Army, then transitioned into his family business of livestock and oil production, after which he worked in the outdoor clothing and retail industry, additionally was a fly fishing guide. Minton had the most fun later in his career selling motorcycles for the Harley Davidson dealership.
He is survived by his sister, Pamela Prideaux married to Dr. Daniel Bruhl of Ft. Worth, TX; his daughter, Cybil Prideaux Child (Justin Child), Salt Lake City, UT; son, Stewart Prideaux; grandsons Owen and Soren, Aspen, CO; son, Austin Prideaux, San Diego, CA; his extended family; cousins, nieces and nephews; former spouse, DeeDee Olson Prideaux, La Jolla, CA.
A memorial service is planned for Minton at the Santa Fe National Veteran’s Cemetery for family and close friends on Friday, September 2nd at 12:45 followed by a reception at the La Fonda on the Plaza Hotel in the Santa Fe room at 2:30 p.m.
