Tamra Lynn Tischner

. 1946 ~ 2018.
Tamra Lynn Tischner passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with dementia on February 10, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Born on April 17, 1946 in Salt Lake City to Lorna and Leo Teerlink, she excelled at and valued her role as a daughter and sister.
Tamra graduated in 1964 from Murray High School where she met her sweetheart and eternal companion David Dwight Tischner. They were married and sealed on July 2, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Tamra was selfless. She gave herself completely to her husband and children and always put them first.
She had an abounding testimony of her Savior and the power of prayer. She held and was dedicated to her many callings in the LDS church including Primary President, Young Women’s President, and RS teacher. She valued the opportunity to visit teach as her friends also meant the world to her.
Tamra had an incredible work ethic and ability to keep up with an astounding number of responsibilities. She never took time to be lazy. She very much enjoyed the friendships she made while working for Richard Barton, OBGYN and at the American Fork Clinic. Tamra also had an outstanding ability to nurture and strengthen children, which she did for many years as a preschool teacher alongside a very dear friend. Grandma was her most cherished role. Her grandchildren were her entire world and she was happiest while spending time with them.

Dwight Tischner, children; Staci (Mayling) Vest, Troy (Robyn) Tischner, Becky (Tyler) Brinkman, Heather (Brandt) Revell, Kristi (Travis) Zingleman, 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Siblings Viola (Martin) Overduyn, Carol (Larry) Liedtke, Leona Prince, Terry Teerlink, Prime (Nancy) Teerlink, Duane (Maureen) Teerlink. Many nieces and nephews

Dearest Tishners…what wonderful memories we have of all of you & your sweet Mother & wife Tamra. You were most loved neighbors & dear friends. I remember when Tamra took care of Taylor when he was about 3 (about Kristi’s age)…before Tamra’s preschool days. She treated Taylor with so much love & sweet care…he loved going to your house & he loved Tamra & playing with Kristi. The last couple of days my mind has been filled with the sweet, water-colored days of all of you… the growing -up times, New Year’s Eve parties at your house & so much more. You are in our thoughts & prayers….we love you,
Bob, Robyn, Christian, Cercee. Bryn & Taylor KAELIN

I cherish my friendship with Tamra. I have fond memories of serving in Primary with her when we were young mothers. She taught my two youngest children in preschool. I recall her positive, sweet attitude and her petite beauty.
I had not seen her for a few years, but had been thinking about her lately only to discover her passing.

My deepest condolences to Dwight and her dear children.

    Love, Barbara Thompson

David Dwight Tischner — My name is Rulon Teerlink, a cousin of Tamra. Tamra’s father and my father, Nicholas Teerlink, were brothers. My wife, JoAnn, and I planned to come to the funeral, but I caught a “bug” and it kept us at home . Tamara was just two years old when I left for my mission in 1948. From then until I came home from Korea in 1953 I wasn’t with family very much. We do remember her and did appreciate her, her mother and father. We send you our very best.
A couple of questions for you: One of my missionary friends lived in Alpine – Ray Warner. Also, my “roommate” in Korea, Quintin White, lives in Highland. He’s just about 1/4 mile south of the main road from I-15 – just as you come up from the gully – a chapel on the Southwest corner of 10845 North. We have remained old friends these many years. Our best to you and your family. J. Rulon Teerlink

Dear Dwight and family. I am so sad to hear of Tamra’s passing. What a wonderful lady! I sure enjoyed getting to know Tamra, you, and your family the little bit we had while she was at the Draper BeeHive Home! I am sorry I was not able to come to the viewing or funeral as I was sick. I hope all went well! I wish you the very best going forward with all your precious memories of Tamra! May the Lord bless and comfort you continually!
    Love,
    Connie Sperry
