Ruby Margaret Briggs

1925 ~ 2019 Ruby Margaret Briggs, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in St. George Utah. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 28, 1925 to John and Aagot (Haakensen) Henriksen. She graduated from South High in 1943. Ruby married her sweetheart, Calvin Briggs for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on October 11, 1949. Together they raised 4 children. Ruby and Cal were married for 59 years before his death in 2009.She loved teaching all about her Norwegian heritage. Especially the food. She had many wonderful talents including sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Holding many callings throughout the years. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great, great – grandmother. Her family was her most prized possession. Ruby is survived by her children Mike (Paula) Briggs, Judy (Duane) Nebeker, Karen (Pat) Robinson,and daughter in law Carol Briggs. 12 grandchildren,21 great-grand children and 1 great great- grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Calvin Briggs, son John Briggs, granddaughters MaryAnn and Jennifer Briggs, and 2 brothers John and LeRoy Henriksen. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 17, 2019 at the Grand View Ward chapel, 2930 South 2000 East Salt Lake City, UT at 12pm . A viewing will be held from 10:30am-11:30am the same day.

    So sorry for your family’s loss. Working on a family picture tree project, and was hoping Duane might have a picture of his sister, Lola Nebeker Decker Lauriente, to share with me. She was the second wife of my grandfather, Dan Lauriente. Thank so much.
