Jonathan “Jon” Douglas Price
1965 ~ 2020
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on August 31, 2020.
Jonathan “Jon” Douglas Price was born October 22, 1965, in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he grew up and graduated from Brighton High School. He enjoyed playing sports and being outdoors. He played football for Brighton as an offensive guard and won the 4A High School State Championship in 1982. In the winter months, Jon could always be found on skis. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, scuba diving, boating, and many other activities that allowed him to spend time with family and friends. Jon loved getting to know people and was one you could become friends with immediately. He had unconditional love towards everyone.
From 1985 to 1987 he lived in Tallahassee, Florida, where he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He continued to serve people in and out of the Church throughout his life. When he came home from his mission, he met his beautiful wife, Kelly, and was sealed to her in the Salt Lake Temple in 1988. Together, they had three boys; Colby (1988), Seth (1991), and Jacob (1994). They were his “pride and joy.”
He was not only a father to his three sons, but he was also their baseball coach, football coach, priesthood leader, and boss. He wore many “hats” throughout their lives and was always clear which hat he was wearing when there was a lesson to be learned. He taught them about the Savior, His atoning sacrifice, and that by abiding by the concept of “line upon line, precept upon precept,” they can become like their Savior.
During his early years of marriage, he worked in the windows, doors, and tile industry until he had the opportunity to run his own landscaping business. His business blessed his family for many years and gave them the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world. He made many memories while traveling, but his favorite memories were with family and friends at Lake Powell.
Shortly after arriving home from his last trip to Europe in November, 2019, the family received the news that he was diagnosed with stage 4 liver and pancreatic cancer. After 10 months of battling the disease, our Father in Heaven has called him Home. The world is a better place because of Jon. He had such a kind heart and will be sorely missed by family and friends. The family has stated on several occasions since his passing, “We loved him very much and will miss him more than we can express.”
Jon is survived by his wife, Kelly, and his three sons: Colby (Bre), Seth (Liz), Jacob (Candice), his parents: Janice Boucher and Richard (Cindy) Price, his siblings: David, Susie, and Tim, his seven grandchildren: Braylee, Graham, Liam, Miles, Brixton, Asher, and Josie. There are also many other extended family members and friends who loved and adored this man. He is preceded in death by his brother, Danny, and his stepfather, Frank Boucher. The Price family would like to thank the compassionate support they have received from many loving friends, family members, and Intermountain Homecare & Hospice (Brittney Bouchard and staff) during this difficult time.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (address: 9880 South 3100 East, Sandy). Visitation will also occur at the same location the day of the funeral, Saturday, September 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in honor of Jon’s amazing life at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the Salt Lake City cemetery.
We kindly request that you wear a mask and social distance while attending services to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Services may also be viewed by live streaming Zoom, meeting ID 8012878233.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jon in High School and fondly remember his constant smile and laugh. I’m so sorry to hear of this loss to his family and friends. May you all find comfort in all your memories you shared with him.
Kelly, our hearts go out to you and your family. Such a wonderful man! He was always to kind and friendly. Orvetta, Virginia and I were talking about him today, and the thing I most remember about Jon, was that he “always” took the time to come over and shake Rods hand and ask how he was getting along. He will be greatly missed.
Our love to all of you.

Price Family,
I am so sorry for your loss, I know Jon is watching over you all, and will always be with you. I’m thankful to know that he’s healthy, happy, and at peace in Heaven with his heavenly father. All you have to do is look at his 3 sons, and the men they have become to know just how amazing Jon was as a father, husband, and leader. I’m extremely grateful to have known Jon, I truly can’t think of a single time in over a decade of being neighbors where I saw Jon get even close to mad, or even not smile. He always had a smile on his face, and always took the time to walk over and ask how I was doing. Jon lived life to the fullest, and set an example that I would be extremely proud to follow in life, My thoughts and prayers are with you guys.
Kelly and family,
Our deepest condolences to you and your family! We love you! We love Jon! He will never be forgotten. Sending you and your family lots of love and prayers. We have so many fond memories of both of you! Love you!

May his memory be forever close to your hearts.
We love you all so much, and we already miss Jon. He is such a great man, and we will hold him in our hearts forever. May Father send his choicest blessings of comfort to all of you.
