Janette and Family,
Our Deepest Sympathies to your family.
I have many memories of your dad coming to our house for his visiting teaching, he was always so gracious, sweet & caring!
It has been an honor to know him and he will be missed by us!
Hugh was one of those people that always lifted up those around him. It was always a pleasure to spend time with Hugh and be around him. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell a good story. His experiences on Okinawa were inspirational. I hope the family has recorded those events of WWII. They will be cherished for generation yet to come.
We are saddened to know that our good friend Hugh who we loved so much, who had such a jovial laugh and a great sense of humor has passed on from this life. We know that he has gone on to a better place. His and Gay’s willingness to share their lives with us at their cabin were so enjoyable. We especially remember the time that our Young Adult Singles spent a rollicking night there. Those were the good times. We also will never forget what great love and care they had for our daughter Beth. Likewise, their daughter Jeanette became like an adopted daughter to us. We cherish the friendship we’ve had over the years with him and his family,
I miss you father. Thank you for being the example of what a man of integrity should be. You gave your heart freely to all you met and you offered your friendship genuinely, not only in word, but in action. You loved life and I was fortunate enough to witness your enthusiasm as you actively engaged yourself in it, often sharing in the activities that so defined you. Thank you for your service to your country, for you have always been my hero. I miss you father, but I am happy you are on to your next adventure.
