Estella Eva Tafoya

Estella Eva Tafoya, age 64, of West Jordan, Utah passed away on November 23, 2016, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was welcomed into Heaven into her daddy’s arms. She was born on September 23, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Presenticion and Juanita (Sanchez) Perea. She married the love of her life, Mike Tafoya, on November 7, 1970.
She was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed for her sense of humor, unconditional love, and always being able to see the good in people. She treated everyone with kindness, love, and respect. She enjoyed crafts, wood working, going to Wendover, and ultimately spending time with her family.
Estella is survived by her loving husband Mike of 46 years. Mother Juanita Perea. Daughters Eva Tafoya, Adriane (Rick) Lopez, and Amanda (Rolando) Arias. Grandchildren Dominique (Mario) Nava, Maelessa Tafoya, Devyn Lopez, San Miguel Tafoya, Isabella Lopez, and Destiny Arias. Great grandson to be Marcus Nava. Siblings Triva (Ralph) Calvillo, Marvin (Inez) Perea, Liz (Harvey) Landford, Thelma Villalobos, Jack (Reggie) Perea, Rubin Perea, Press (Marjeana) Perea, Freddie (Susie) Perea, Berlyn (Floyd) Duncan, Karen (Mario) Cisneros. Numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Preceeded in death by Father Presenticion Perea, nephew Richard Hodges, and nephew Brian Gallegos.
The family would like to thank IHC Hospice nurse Suzie Clark and Daybreak Huntsman Oncology for the special care they gave. And a special thank you to nurse, Bridger Bateman (aka our mother’s eye candy) who treated her with compassion and unconditional love. Your support will always be remembered.
Memorial services will be held on December 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Utah Veterans Memorial Chapel, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah, 84065. In lieu of flowers a donatation account has been set up at Mountain America Credit Union under the name ‘Stella Tafoya Donation Fund’ to help with expenses.
