Douglas Clayton Boden
Sugarhouse, UT -Douglas Clayton Boden passed away peacefully, at the age of 75, on April 22, 2021 to return home to his loving Heavenly Father, after a courageous battle with cancer. Douglas was born in Rupert, Idaho on April 20, 1946 to Eva and Ellis Boden.
When Doug was younger his family moved to California where he excelled in many activities which included wrestling, surfing, being on the trampoline team and tennis. The sport he was most accomplished in was tennis, where he was nominated MVP throughout Junior High and High School. He also learned to play both the guitar and the piano but the guitar became one of his greatest passions and joy’s in his life. His family has many fond memories of listening to him sing and play. He graduated from Western High School in Anaheim California in 1964. After graduation he served a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Brazil South Mission. Doug earned a tennis scholarship to BYU. While attending BYU he met and then married Susan Clough on May 31st, 1968 in the Salt Lake City temple, they later divorced. While at BYU he worked at the LTC (now the MTC), he also taught seminary at West Lake Jr high for two years. Doug graduated from BYU in 1970 with a degree in Portuguese and a Minor in Latin Political Science. He was then called to work in the seminary and institute program among the Navajo people in New Mexico.
The love our dad had for his children was apparent. On numerous occasions we were told of his great admiration and love that he had for each one of us and we share that same love and admiration for him. He instilled us the importance of family and that everything else comes second as far what was important.
Our dad was such a kind, gentle, compassionate, humble, loving, comforting, generous person, with a great sense of humor and ability to listen. We will miss him greatly. We love you dad.
The family would like to thank the staff at Stonehenge of Ogden, as well as the staff at Aspire Hospice for their compassionate and gentle care of our dad.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents Eva and Ellis Boden, (daughters) Deborah and Rebecca, and (granddaughter) Lauren Luck. He is survived by his (daughters) Sarah Luck (Clark), Joanna Miller (Sean), Maria Boden, Melyssa Chen (Johnny), (sons) Joseph Boden (Jocelyn), Nathan Boden, siblings, Bill Boden (Francoise), Jack Boden (Susan), Dianne Greiner (Russell) and Elaine Lujan; and 23 grandchildren and 4 great children.

Dear Doug, Thank you for your unconditional love and influence for good in my life ,and in the lives of your children, your family, friends, and countless others, including those whom others would shun. You always lent a helping hand, spoke a kind word and gave good advice if asked. You will be sorely missed, here, but surly working in the Spirit World continuing to teach others to follow Jesus Christ, Your Lord and Savior. I Love you Forever, Your Sister, Dianne
