Daryl Jay Kent

Kent Daryl

1948 ~ 2015

Daryl Jay Kent of West Jordan, Utah, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. He was 67.

Born on July 16, 1948 in Emmett, ID to Earl Kent and Zella Rynearson. He married Vicky Lynn Johnson in December, 1973. They had four children together.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid fly fisherman. He was happiest on a river somewhere, but loved riding motorcycles almost as much. Through the years his work brought him many opportunities to travel the world and he developed a knack for photography while abroad. He was an avid reader and was always willing to share a story of his own. He enjoyed many hobbies including wood working, astrology, model airplanes, and playing darts.

He was an accomplished chemist and was well respected in his field. He worked in many laboratories over the years. Since 2005 he had been working for Energy Solutions at their CLIVE Facility.

Daryl is survived by his wife Vicky Kent; sons Derek Kent, Jared (Amee) Kent, Michael (Brooke) Kent; grandchildren Victoria, Jersey, Ella, Brianna, Rose, and Kadee. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl Kent and Zella Rynearson; sister Nola Silkett; and daughter Angela Kent.

An open house remembrance of Daryl’s life will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Sandy Library, 10100 Petunia Way, Sandy, UT.

I am Daryl’s 2nd cousin. We went to school together. I found him not long ago on Facebook. He never said he had cancer.
My condolences and prayers go out to his family.
