Calvin Prime Teerlink

1949 ~ 2019

Prime Teerlink passed away on September 27th, 2019 after courageously surviving Mantle Cell Lymphoma for 8 years.

Prime was known for his bold, determined, playful character, his unyielding work ethic and optimistic attitude. He was born to Leo and Lorna Teerlink in SLC, Utah. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the West Central States Mission. He later attended the University of Utah, but avidly cheered for his BYU sports teams.

In 1978, Prime was sealed to his wife, Nancy, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Prime’s boundless energy drove him to successfully operate his own painting and home building businesses. He served in a variety of church positions including bishopric counselor, elders quorum president, young men’s president, special needs advisor, gospel doctrine teacher, and spent his last 12 years serving the patrons as an ordinance worker at the Draper Utah Temple.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, who he fiercely adored. They created a happy home together. They have six children (Somer Squire (Shane), Jamie Jones (Jeff), JP Teerlink (Kellie), Amanda Casper (Ryan), Jordan Teerlink (Barbara), Tyler Teerlink) and seventeen grandchildren, who brought him so much joy. He lived to make their lives better by loving them and serving them tirelessly.

Viewings will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd from 6-8 p.m., and Thursday, October 3rd from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 3rd at 11 a.m.

Viewing and funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (13366 S. 1300 E. Draper, Utah).

Prime was such a dear sweet friend. He was like a brother to us. Brad spent many hours helping Prime build his houses so he could learn. He learned from the best. He and Duane brought a lot of fun and laughter to our neighborhood. We will miss you dear friend. My only regret is that we did not get everyone together before you left. We will continue praying for you Nancy and for your family.
    Much love
    Brad and Linda Tranter.

Thanks for years of friendship Prime. He was the best of men, including best man at my wedding. What a great light to the world he brought. My heart is so saddened. I pray for peace for all of us who love this great man.

Oh Nancy! I’m so very sorry! I was out of town and just found out about Prime’s passing. Jeff and I love you both very much. We are so grateful for Prime’s friendship and his valiant example. We were blessed to know him; and for so long. May the Lord comfort and strengthen you! I can picture Prime and Jeff together, both anxious and excited about their new assignments. I will be in touch. Much love, Kathi
