Betty Jane Davison (1939-2019)
November 29, 1939 – April 13, 2019
Murray, Utah
On April 13, Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister. Betty Jane Davison left her family for her next adventure. She was born November 29, 1939 to Vern Alan Dumas and Mary Arlene (Scott) Dumas in Salt Lake City. Betty was the proud mother of four children, Brad (Lisa) Letham, Darin (Roxanne) Letham, Becki (Lisa Roberts) Letham, and DeAnn (Todd) Slade. Devoted grandmother to Ross, Codi, and Gage. She is survived by her sister Donna McKay, preceded in death by her parents and sister Kathy McClure.
Betty was an independent, feisty, and a very strong little woman, literally. At five feet tall, as she insisted, she could be a force and up for trying anything at least once. In her younger years she was crazy about snow skiing with her kids, sun tanning during her summer break and trips to Lava Hot Springs. Christmas was mom’s most favorite time of year even though she was freezing most of the time. The holidays at mom’s were always memorable with her cheese balls, cookies, banana bread and special eggnog.
She enjoyed taking care of her immaculate yard, digging in her flowerbeds and dragging that damn sprinkler around. Betty retired from Granite School District where she was the Principals’ Executive Secretary and then retired from the State of Utah. She loved spending her retirement with her grandchildren where they would watch Disney movies, go out to lunch and play board games. She became an avid Utah Jazz fan due to all the sports knowledge she acquired from her grandson Gage. They had a very special relationship.
She was not one to take a hand out but always generous with a hand up.
Betty’s wishes were to have her ashes spread at her favorite ski resort and has requested no services. We will miss you mom! Thank you for all your wisdom, love and support, we love you!
