Alan Kaizumi
Alan Kaizumi passed away on December 23, 2020, after many surgeries and hospital stays. On June 30, 1954, he was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Maki and Hannah Kaizumi. He went to Onequa Elementary, Jackson Junior High, and graduated from West High School.
Alan worked for years as a Boilermaker for Local 182. He later went to Salt Lake Community College, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with an Emphasis on Computer Engineering. He later worked for Salt Lake Community College as a DRC Computer Technician.
Alan loved getting together with family and had a wonderful sense of humor as he was always making jokes and making those around him laugh. He loved talking to others and was the first to sign up to help his niece move when she was in college. He always wanted to make sure that his grandnieces and
grandnephews knew how much he loved them. He dabbled in cooking his mother’s famous pumpkin pie recipe and Chinese maifun salad. He also loved his cars owning a ’67 Chevrolet
Camaro, spending hours working on it.
Alan is survived by his brother Kraig (Vicki) Kaizumi, sister
Linda (Dan) Molyneux, niece Trina (Jeremy) Christensen, grandnieces, and grandnephews Hannah, Gavin, Aiden, Collin, and Kallie Christensen, whom he loved getting hugs from.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
Graveside services will be held in January 2021 – details will be published at a later time.

RIP Alan you are going to be missed
Better friends than most
I met him at the Rescue Mission in downtown Salt Lake, where he was an excellent teacher and fellow servant.
We had mostly enjoyable jousts over religion.
The Resurrection
Like a bird cast out
Stunned at its own falling, then
Startled by its wings.
